Similar to any big purchase any consumer would make, before stepping into the ring with the seller you should first do your research. This includes preparing your homework before working out the details of the sale. Similar to car leasing, one of the biggest successes in walking away with a good deal is doing your homework to prepare for the sale or the negotiations. Coincidentally the majority of consumers never do preparation before visiting a dealership to buy or lease a car, and use the first visit as an opportunity to do their research – which can lead the consumer to not see the full picture.

Any consumer who does not prepare prior to walking into a dealership to buy or lease a car is at the mercy of the dealership – similar to any deal a consumer would make with a seller (ex. purchasing a plasma television, purchasing a home, a vacation, etc.). We’re not saying a dealership will pull a fast one on the consumer, but the dealership work with consumers every single day, and their in business to make money. So to get the best deal on your car lease or car purchase – do your homework first before walking into to visit the dealership.
